The project spreads over 25 acres of land located just 60 kms from Chennai, 10 km from Chengalpat and 12Km to Mahindra city, close to NH45 well connected to city by road and rail.

Dignity Village is committed to enriching the lives of senior citizens, and enabling them to live in a Kibbutz style of community living with their protected privacy and independent living in a pollution free atmosphere.

It runs active programmes that motivate and inspire senior citizens, and help them achieve fulfillment in life, despite their age. To make them feel worth while again, making an active contribution to society. Above all, instilling in them a sense of pride and self-esteem, so they can live their life with dignity.

Old age homes are meant for senior citizens who are unable to stay with their families or are destitute. These old age homes have special medical facilities for senior citizens such as mobile health care systems, ambulances, nurses and provision of well-balanced meals.

The founders of Rural Development Foundation - Dignity Village is Mrs Sujatha Natarajan & Mr. Natarajan both actively involved in community development programmes in rural India. Mrs. Natarajan is an Elected President of Family Planning Association of India, has been a social entrepreneur working with community development for the past two decades.

Old age homes are meant for older people who have nowhere to go and no one to support them. Old age homes are also meant for people who have people to support and but are not willingly supported by them.

The dieing phenomenon of joint family system has given rise to increase in retirement homes. The increase in the cost of living of this generation has pushed the senior citizens on roads. These senior citizens have started their journey in finding a place for them. This has given them a choice for sharing their life with the same group of people who lead life in the same direction.

The senior citizens were once called the younger generation and today’s younger generation and to be called as senior citizens in near future. This is a running phenomenon and one who understands it – understand the morale of life.

Senior citizens are to be considered as people in our family who have lived a long life with vast experiences, different scenarios, meeting different people and finding different conclusions
